The Tea Tree plant is indigenous to Australia, but is now grown in many parts of the world. The Chinese tea tree plant is a small shrub with needle-like leaves similar to that of the Australian variety. Tea Tree has a fresh, slightly medicinal scent with woody, camphoraceous notes.
Tea tree oil has been widely used throughout Australia for at least the past 100 years. This oil is well-known for its powerful antiseptic properties and ability to treat wounds. It has been found in numerous medical studies to kill many strains of bacteria, viruses and fungi.
