The laurel tree is a small shrub originating in the eastern Mediterranean countries. Laurel leaf has been known for thousands of years, but the use of its leaves as a household culinary herb is believed to be a comparatively recent one. Laurel leaf essential oil has a sweet, pleasant, spicy somewhat medicinal odor. The notes are much finer than eucalyptus or cajupet, with a clean and faintly fruity aroma.
Laurel leaf oil has been used to:
